Thanksgiving!!!! (a little late i know..)

yeah i was outta town for it, me and 'Tony' (we will call him) met in Dallas, and then flew up together to my parents (in New York), and my Grandparents from Cali flew in too, and we had the biggest turkeys EVER!!! (two that is...). My dad cooked some brisket too, while Grandpa kept his eye on the turkeys...and mom and Grandma cooked a bundle of mashed potato's, green bean cassarole, and rolls.....

*drools*

hah, just kidding,
but it was great...

so anyway, that's where i have been, while we were up there, we watched the Dallas vs. Seattle game, because the Detroit game wasn't worth watching....they were losing so bad...
but the Dallas game was pretty okay too, the Jonas Brothers (yipee....Not!) at half-time, were.......TERRIBLE!! maybe they were worn out from their looong tour, but whatever...
all you crazy girl fans out there.....GET OVER it, they WERE bad, and what is with their hair??
anyway.....they stunk, and then Dallas won, sooooo.....yeah...
and my Grandparents love playing Poker, so we did....about 5 games, in just 2 days...but it was great...hope everyone else had a good one!!

Don't Forget

well now, this little lady seems to be the female 'Jonas Brother', her cd Don't Forget, is now out, has been for a while, my friend just recently told me about it, and i checked it out on iTunes.....it's pretty good.

ok, better than good, but don't take my word for it...here's what Amazon said...

"With producer Jon Fields at the helm, Demi teamed up with Jonas Brothers to co-write several of the album's 11 songs. It was a natural collaboration, since Demi counts Nick, Joe and Kevin among her best friends. Their inerrant feel for hook-laden rock helped Demi deliver on her vision. "If I were to write the album by myself it would probably have been a little more serious," she notes. "But I didn't want that. I wanted a fun album."

It's hard to imagine anything more musically fun than full-out rockers like "Get Back" and "Gonna Get Caught," both written by Demi with Jonas Brothers. Says Demi, "So many guys cheat and play games. I thought there needed to be a song about a guy getting caught. Nick said, `Can't it have a happy ending?' But I said, `No, no, no!'"

She balances the uptempo tracks with sweeping ballads like "Two Worlds" and "Believe in Me," the latter featuring a message Demi takes seriously. "Being a teenage girl you deal with insecurity," she says. "People think if you're in the spotlight, you're overly confident, but most of us deal with so much criticism, it gets to us. I'm the type of person who wants to take it with a grain of salt."

Demi's vulnerable side comes through on "Until Your Mine" and the title track, a touching ballad (co-written with Jonas Brothers) about a faltering relationship. She explores similar territory in "On the Line," an uptempo duet she co-wrote and sings with Nick(and Joe) Jonas. "We wanted to write a breakup song," Demi says, "and what better way to say it when you're breaking up over the phone than with the title `On the Line.'"

Demi's inner rocker girl comes roaring back on "Party" and "LA LA Land," a droll take on SoCal life and all its attending artifice. Showing her songwriting skills Demi wrote "Trainwreck" all by herself. She wraps the album with "The Middle," a strikingly mature song about finding balance in love and life."

well that about says it all right??

naaaaaaah....
your very own American Girl is gonna examine each song just for you...

first off....

'LaLa Land'
here she is talking about how she is still 'real' even though she is a celebrity, "i'm not a supermodel, i still eat Macdonald's", and things like that.

'Get Back' it's her hit single, the title says it all, she wants to get back with this guy, and have a second chance at their love, "I wanna talk back and get yelled at, like we used to", man, if likes getting yelled at, this must be some guy....

'Trainwreck' is about this guy she likes, even though "he might be crazy", and how he "fled from medication cause it only causes pain", and other quirks like that...

'Party' is just that, its about this guy she meets at this serious party, lots of dancing, and that kind of thing, it apparently takes place in Dallas Texas, or something like that, because she mentions it near the end...

'On the Line', is my personal favorite, the way they blend her and the Jonas Brothers makes it sound a bit like a classic 80's song, it's quite catchy, and it's about her and her guy leaving their problems "on the line", and it's pretty good...

'Don't Forget', the title song, is about her guy forgetting about her, and about their relationship, and how their "love is like a song, and you can't forget it", and then " you've forgotten to sing along".... it is kinda sad, but it's pretty good...

'Gonna Get Caught', as seen above in Amazon's piece, is not a happily ending song, at least not for the guy... but it's about this guy who messes around, and has alot of girls he's has told "it's forever", and then when they are gone, goes and finds someone else, and she gives it to him straight, "i'm your number 1, or gone!"...

'Two Worlds Collide', is i gather, about her two worlds/two sides, and how she found balance, like the timid girl, was her before her fame and confidence, and then the more bold and strong girl, is her after her newfound confidence and such...

'The Middle', the most suggestive of all the songs, but is the most bold and big song, i didn't like it the first time, but now i have to put it in the top 3. It's mostly about this guy she meets at a party, and "the second i saw i just knew i'd found my ride, Bye" like she has been wanting to get outta there, but then she sees her white knight who can help her get away. But she likes it "i like it, i like it, somewhere in the middle with you!"

'Until You're Mine', here she really likes this guy, and her world is perfect, "with you i can't breathe...Until You're Mine..." and such... she can't "rest until you're miiiiine" and he becomes her 24/7, she can't "fight my mind, it keeps on coming back to you, always back to you". but it's actually a great song.

'Believe in Me' as mentioned above, Amazon touches on it, it's about her trying to believe in herself, instead of competing for the spotlight, "just being me" she says, is best, and she says things like "everyone's perfect in unusual ways", "the mirror can lie, it doesn't show you what's inside", "it's amazing what you can hide, just by putting on a smile"....it's a great end to a great first album...

go get it, it's not just for Teeny-boppers,

clearly......

love,
AAG
